As an integrative Counsellor my practice focuses on the therapeutic relationship established with my clients. My practice pays attention to how past experiences can be carried across to the present day and I am mindful of how this may impact upon the counselling relationship as well as the clients relationships outside of the counselling room. As well as listening therapeutically I offer the opportunity to work creatively with art materials, objects and sand tray techniques. The aim of my work is to work through, fear, worries and trauma but also to acknowledge the positives, their inner strengths, exploring their hopes and dreams for the future.
As everybody is different in their needs and their approach to life, my integrative approach enables me to work with a variety of clients where the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor is central to the work. I provide all of my clients with a warm, confidential and non-judgmental space, always allowing the client to guide me in providing the right kind of support and information, to assist them to work through their specific problems. Some clients may find it helpful to explore their past, especially their childhood experience, relationships with parents or other family members often sheds light on their current problems or difficult relationships. I integrate my theoretical knowledge and tailor each session to match each client’s unique needs. I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship I hold with my clients.
